A rare copy of the limited edition of the Golf title from the Badminton Library. This is # 116 of the limited edition of 250 large paper edition. The front endpaper contains the book plate of the original owner of the book, Alfred Money Wigram, a member of British Parliament who died in 1897. Contains chapters on Giving Odds and Handicapping, Hints on Match and Medal Play and Etiquette and Behaviour. While the advice is over a century old it is still relevant today. Horace Hutchinson won the British Amateur Championship in 1886 and 1887 and went on the be captain of the R & A. The large paper edition of the golf title of the Badminton Library is one of the rarest book in the golf collectors library. The Badminton Library was originally issued in a 29 volume series between 1885 and 1902 and is highly collectible. This copy is in very good condition with some scuffing to the binding which is common with this title given the delicate nature of the material used in the book's production.
