This rare club seldom comes on the market. It is known as the Lard Whistler and was made by Spalding prior to 1920. The patent dates on the club are 1916 and 1918. This was probably the first steel shaft ever made. It was done as an experiment to get away from wooden shafts. The holes were punched in the steel shaft to help make it lighter in weight. It was dubbed "The Whistler" because is makes a whistling sound when it was being swung. This club is in original condition. It has its original leather grip and the original winding. Don't miss this chance to own a piece of golf history. Some pitting to face.
