From 'The Illustrated London New' of 26 March 1870. Published by Charles Ross Willmott, Toronto Canada. "Willmott" prints were published between 1850 and 1899, rare to be printed in color. This important art piece was printed to form an important addition to collections in the Museums and Art Galleries of Canada and the United States. Each print has a permanent number which will be found within the circle of the name embossed in lower margin. This antique print is framed. The print commemorated a 21-hole golf match between the London Scottish and Royal Blackheath Golf Club. The match was played at Blackheath on Tuesday March 15, 1870.
